All my life I have been interested in science. Fate has it, I believe, that this interest led me to the study of the Holy Scriptures. The Bible even enhanced my interest in everything scientific. The first time I heard Johnny Mathis singing, “Fly Me to the Moon,” the lyrics and the melody were already printed in my mind. Do you want me to prove this? Pardon my voice, but I can sing it with gusto!

I am interested about everything around me. I observe keenly how ants move, how birds fly, and how people live their lives. In my elementary grades, when I first heard the Darwinian Theory of evolution, the first doubt that came into my mind was that, if humans came from apes, why are there people with faces that look like horses and dogs?

I am not a scientist and have never finished any degree in any branch of science, but I always have with me a scientific attitude and approach in the study of everything I am interested in. The very recent discovery of a planet two light-years away from the earth, which they say is very much ‘earth-like,’ made it to the headlines of global news reports. This led to the resurrection of the very frequently asked question: Is there life in other places of the universe? Are there other planets that can sustain life much like that of the earth? I am sure of the answer! And my answer comes from the book which I have revered all my life because it is the only book that I found to be logical and scientific in answering not only the questions of hundreds of thousands of people I am favored to meet, but my own questions which I do not hear from other people. The Bible has it!

(Acts 17:26-27) “And He has made all nations of men of one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling, to seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after Him and find Him, though indeed He is not far from each one of us.”

The verse mentions the planet Earth, and we must especially notice the phrase “bounds of their habitation.” Scientists agree that until now, with all their sophisticated equipments, they have not yet found in the solar system, or in our galaxy, much more in other distant galaxies, a place that can sustain or support human life. The recent planet discovered has a temperature of 300 degrees centigrade below zero, with its size, 5.5 times larger than that of the earth, and with its year, much shorter than an earth year, implying that it moves on a greater speed than the earth, and revolving on a star which is very much fainter than our sun. It is scientifically impossible for us to live in such a place, period.

God is an exact God. Reduce the size of the earth; reduce the heat of the sun; and we will freeze. Make it a little closer to the sun and we will be baked or burned. Make it as large as Mars and our weight will be more than doubled. The Earth’s size and distance from the sun are the exact measurements needed to sustain human life! GOD MEASURED IT.

(Job 38:4) “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell if you have understanding! Who has set its measurements, for you know? Or who has stretched the line on it? On what are its bases sunk, or who cast its cornerstone…”

After all, the universe is the handy work of God’s hand.

(Psalms 19:1-3) “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse proclaims His handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor are there words; their voice is not heard.”

Undoubtedly, there are other planets in our own galaxy and in billion other galaxies, but the reason why God created man on Earth from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7) is because it is the only planet in the entire universe wherein human life will comfortably fit. Think of this: The best place for your eyes is where they are now. Put them a little below, i.e., in the belly or thighs and you can imagine how ugly your person will be. Put your nose or ears in other places of your body and you will not be a work of art.

(Hebrews 2:6-7) “But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:”

Human efforts and resources, which scientists devote in searching for other worlds that can sustain life, will be futile! Let us search, instead, from the Holy Scriptures the kingdom and the righteousness of God and discover a world called a “new Earth” where righteousness, peace, and love dwell.

(II Peter 3:13) “But according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

So, as Winnie had analyzed, is dying for the apostles a wrong reason? Is that what you have understood in the post of OdanMatig-a? It’s either that you do not know how to read or you are not in the proper state of mind! I will not say I love you as you hypocritically say that to me! I pity you!

The first century Christians were taught to lay down their lives or “be ready to die” for their brethren.

I JOHN 3:16

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Let us review.

That was what you posted. The truth is, it is very unnecessary for you to die for me! Thank you anyway for your concern. But the Lord Jesus Christ had died – already -for all of the faithful, including me. And mind you, I am not peddling faith like your Catholic priests do! In our faith, we do not sell baptisms, marriage ceremonies, indulgences and whatever church services!

If you are not, call your priests or cardinals, or even your pope, and I will defend my faith and prove to the entire world that the Roman Catholic Church is not the church established by the Lord Jesus Christ!

Be true to yourself because if you cannot, how can you be true to others? Judging is different from asking! It’s that simple!

If it is not a literal prohibition to call humans father, then it must be spiritual! If used to a literal or physical father it is not prohibited to call him “father,” but as your explanation implied, aren’t Catholic priests and popes literal and physical “father”?

What kind of father are they?

For the sake of justice, fairness, and truth, I oblige myself in this venue and even in my Tweeter account to correct comments that purport to favor me. I disagree with what Bro. Bennieson posted:

Brother, allow me to correct you: I am not the “true Son of God”, but the Lord Jesus is.

PSALMS 2:7

I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 

HEBREWS 5:5

So also Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee. 

Notice that God the Father did not pronounce this even unto one of all the angels!

HEBREWS 1:5

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Let me say that I may be considered “a” son of God through adoption.

THE ROMANS 8:15-16

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

But I am not “the” true Son of God.

The true Son of God is the Lord Jesus Christ!

MATTHEW 16:13-17

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Anyone who claims that he is the Son of God with the definite article “the” is a liar. Let us look at this claim.

When the Bible said that love of money is “a” root of all evil, it is precisely true because love of money is not “the” root of all evil.

I TIMOTHY 6:10 (ASV)

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 

It is true that love of money can be “a” root of all evil, but it will not be precisely true to say that love of money is “the” root of all evil.

Satan became evil not because of love of money, but because he coveted power that does not belong to him!  He wanted to be equal with God.

ISAIAH 14:12-14

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

When he became evil, money was not yet in use.  If money can be a root of all evil, the truth is there are other roots of evil aside from love of money. When the Bible said that money is “a” root of all evil it is an irrefutable truth. My point is, even the use of articles in a sentence greatly affects the truth!

MATTHEW 5:18

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Someone claiming to be the Son of God like Apollo Quiboloy is not telling the truth, but is deceiving people.

The Lord Jesus, according to the Bible, is the only begotten Son of God.  For anyone to claim such an honor, their glory is not glory but shame.

PROVERBS 25:27

It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.

In view of the foregoing, may I advise Bro. Bennieson, and all the others who complement me, to be careful in their choice of words.

Brother Eli will remain to be an unprofitable servant!

LUKE 17:10

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

To God and His Son Jesus Christ be the glory!

There are things physical that are collateral with things spiritual in the vast wisdom of God in the Scriptures. The Greek word used is “πολυποίκιλος”polupoikilos, which simply means diverse, multifarious, variegated.

EPHESIANS 3:10

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 

This wisdom was manifest from the simplest to the most intricate forms of creation!

PSALMS 104:24

O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

Physicists may in one way or the other appreciate and understand such wisdom from the physical side of creation but unfortunately most of them do not consider the spiritual.

COLOSSIANS 1:16

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 

To understand the things spiritual we must understand the collateral physical of it.

JOHN 3:12

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 

The intent of the Lord Jesus Christ in teaching or explaining things physical is for people to realize the spiritual side of it. Just like in the case of food, there is a saying devised through human experience that goes, “The nearest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” This may sound true, but spiritual food, in the dimension of expressed or written words, goes directly to the heart – unlike physical food.

MATTHEW 15:17

Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 

The verse above speaks of the route of physical food: to the mouth, into the belly and out.

Conversely, the spiritual does not enter through the mouth but through the ear!

JOB 34:3

For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat. 

And goes directly to the heart.

The route then of spiritual food is: through the ear to the heart.

PSALMS 119:11

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. 

Thus, the physical collateral has its spiritual primary – truth and its inherent wisdom.

To exemplify, nature has it that in the physical realm the sources of light that illuminate the earth shine from the east. Both the sun and the moon shine from the east!

GENESIS 1:14-19

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

¹⁵ And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

¹⁶ And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

¹⁸ And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

¹⁹ And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 

From the east also, in parallel manner as the rising of the sun will the spiritual primary rise – the sun of righteousness and truth!

MALACHI 4:2

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

MALACHI 1:11

For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

Hence, the incense prophesied in the Malachi verse is not the physical incense of the Catholic Church. It refers to something of a higher dimension being offered to the name of God in the prophecy – the prayers and praises of the people of God.

REVELATION 5:8(RSV)

And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints; 

Likewise, the saints offering incense or prayers are not saints of the Catholic Church but members of the Church of God.

I CORINTHIANS 1:1-2

¹Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

²Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

Thus, the true preaching of salvation will originate from the east and going forward to the west, never from the west to the east – as the Lord has declared in these several passages.

ZECHARIAH 8:7

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

These are because the people of God will exist at the time of the end according to the prophecy. And it is among these people – from the east – where the wise will come from.

DANIEL 12:4, 9-10

⁴But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

⁹And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

¹⁰ Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

The wise who will understand the prophecy will be instrumental in turning many to righteousness which group will form the people of God at the time of the end! These wise men will originate from the east; because they will shine as the “brightness of the firmament.”

DANIEL 12:3

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.

Remember that the lights that illuminate the earth shine from the east!

Earlier, we said understanding the physical requires a reckoning with the spiritual because God’s wisdom is vast. We cannot emphasize this enough.

In the past passages as in this verse of Daniel’s book, we note that the physical collateral (wise men) and the spiritual primary (sun of righteousness) reflect upon each other as sureties or warrants. Where one is, the other is sure to be present. 

For this we are ever grateful to God Almighty, because He had willed that this group be formed from the east exactly at the time of the end as prophesied by the Bible! AMEN!

My answers to these Catholic apologists are long overdue! A busy schedule hindered me from posting as early as necessary, but I did not consider this a priority as in having to deal with kids or monstrous liars! I want to answer them now one by one, paragraph after paragraph!

They said:

“If you die for a preacher then you are a cultist and a fanatic. If he [Mr. Eli Soriano] was sent by God he must have a message coming from God. For example is; he must have written a book that is a revelation to him from God… like Moses and St. Paul.” 

Repeat:

“If you die for a preacher then you are a cultist and a fanatic.” Says Odan Matig-a.

Answer: Priscilla and Aquila were both willing to die for their preacher, the Apostle Paul. Were they cultists and fanatics?

THE ROMANS 16:3-4

3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

To lay down one’s life not only for a preacher but for the least of the brethren in Christ is not being fanatic, or a cultist. It is an act of love!

I JOHN 3:16

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Winnie said:

PHILIPPIANS 2:19

Did Timothy write a book? There is no book in the Bible written by Timothy! Another form of ignorance from a Catholic apologist!

Thomas, James (There were two James elected to be apostles), Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, and Simon the Canaanite, were all sent by God but they did not write like the other apostles!

MATTHEW 10:2-6

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus whose surname was Thaddaeus;

4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

OdanMatig-a said:

Answer: The premise is what you said, “The Catholics during the Roman Empire died for their faith in Christ and not for the apostles.”

The Christians, (not Catholics) during the incumbency of the Roman Empire did not only die for their faith in Jesus but were willing to, for the preachers sent to them by Jesus, and one of them is Epapharoditus.

PHILIPPIANS 2:25-26, 30

25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labor, and fellow soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

30 Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

Epaphroditus, because of his services to the Apostle Paul, got sick near death.

When I asked OdanMatig-a, “Is dying for the apostles a wrong reason?” the Biblical answer must be NO! But Winnie butted in and went out of the way and said that to die for me and my wrong belief is not a good reason.

The point of contention is what OdanMatig-a previously said-

“The Catholics during the Roman Empire died for their faith in Christ and not for the apostles.”

OdanMatig-a is wrong because there were Christians who were willing to die for the apostles!

But Winnie stood for him and said:

“OdanMatig-a is right in the sense that, people should not be ready to die for wrong reason.”

Answer: OdanMatig-a did not say that, “…people should not be ready to die for wrong reason.”

What he said was: “The Catholics during the Roman Empire died for their faith in Christ and not for the apostles.”

Then came my (Bro. Eli) question: “Is dying for the apostles a wrong reason?” 

Who then is out of context? YOU! Both of you! 

Is dying for the apostles a wrong reason as OdanMatig-a claimed? Definitely NO! 

THE ROMANS 16:3-4
